IGNOU INTRODUCES VARIOUS NEW POLICIES FOR LEARNERS

IGNOU is committed to provide quality higher education to learners in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and in order to realise this goal, IGNOU has modified its Credit Transfer Policy. This policy provides an opportunity for a learner to complete the course, even after expiration of the validity of the admission. This policy is applicable for both the internal and external credit transfer with the condition that the shelf-life of credits earned for redemption/transfer shall be 7 years. This policy shall apply uniformly to all programmes offered by the university. Along with this IGNOU has also introduced Multiple Entry and Multiple Exit scheme for 4-year Undergraduate Programmes of IGNOU, with effect from July 2025 admission cycle. Under this scheme, a student can complete the first year (2 semesters) of the study at the UG level will be awarded an Undergraduate Certificate. Later he will be allowed entry to a programme in IGNOU within a period of 7 years of award of UG certificate to pursue his further degree. It should also be noted that Dual Degree is allowed for learners, so that they can pursue two courses at the same time, except two UG/PG degree at the same time. If a learner wants to pursue the two UG/PG degree from IGNOU, he/she needs to have six months gap in it. Currently, admission for July-2025 is going on and the last date for admission is 15th September.
