35th Convocation of IGNOU at RC Port Blair

The 35th Convocation of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was held on Tuesday, 26th April, 2022. Shri.Pankaj Kumar, IAS, Secretary,Disaster Management/ Information Technology/ Information Publicity & Tourism/ Art & Culture/Agriculture was the Guest of Honour for the Convocation Function at IGNOU Port Blair Regional Centre. The function was held at Tagore Govt. College of Education Auditorium, Middle Point, Port Blair. At Port Blair Regional Centre 751 students have awarded certificates for 35thConvocation. Among 751 candidates, 42 students were collected their degrees and diplomas in person from the Guest of Honour. The Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators, Staff from IGNOU Study Centres/Regional Centre and general public were present at the Convocation.
The Guest of HonourShri.Pankaj Kumar emphasizedthe need to create awareness about tourism studies, courses for the benefit of Islanders to promote employment. He emphasized importance of acquiring continuous knowledge to upgrade the skills.Shri.Pankaj Kumar appreciated the contribution of IGNOU Port Blair Regional Centre in providing quality higher educational opportunities and suitability of ODL system to Islands.
